![]() ![]() I captured my first historic rally if you want to see how bad it gets (I just use the share function on PSN, so nothing fancy, but you can still make it out). I hate screen-tearing with a fiery passion, and you'll get that constantly. The balanced mode is completely messed up, I said in the WRC 9 thread it's so bad that it has to be patched. That mode is fine and as good as it was with WRC 9 (the biggest change seems to be the lightning, it looks a lot more natural than before, which I like, other than that it is indistinguishable from WRC 9, which is rather disappointing). Having said all of that, right now I can not recommend to get this game if you don't have a TV that supports 120 hz. Little things I like: the new main menu and the female co-driver, who joyfully celebrates every time you're in front at time splits. Furthermore, the route is lined by high, unforgiving kerbs one mistake is enough to damage the suspension, and could mean a premature end to the very last. You'll immediately notice the spectators on the side of the road, which adds a little adrenaline because while they are not on the track itself, sometimes they are not behind a barrier (crashing into them wil immediately reset the car and you'll get a time penalty). The new tracks (or what I have played of them) are pretty great, the historic races are a welcome addition even if it is a bit barebones. For anyone unaware, it's similar to qualifying (or training would be more compareable, since the actual result or time you produce does not matter) where you can test your setups, not as long as a usual stages and you get 4 more wheels to use in the actual race (at least that's what happend when I did it). I like the new additions with the tire allocations and also the shakedowns. I had that down with WRC 9 but I almost feel like I am back to square one, but it's fun learning the new nuances of the handling model. Tappin Brewes mentioned that the cars have more weight to them, and I would definitely agree, especially noticeable around hairpin turns and whenever you use the handbrake. I feel that the feedback on the wheel has improved too and since the cars are more prone to drifting, it helps quite a lot. ![]() Might be the different cars I used so far. The driving feels definitely different, I tend to say it is improved, just having to get back into it after not having played a rally game for a couple of months. ![]() I almost loved every second of it, the driving felt great (with both controller and gamepad) which is the most important thing I think when it comes to racing games, career mode was also fun and I loved the weekly challenges. I say this just so you know where I am coming from. I got back into rally racing games with WRC 9 (after 15 year absence), first two months with DualSense, then bought the wheel and spent around 95 hours with the game (and plainumed it). Spent about two hous yesterday with this game, playing on PS5 with a Logitech G923 wheel. ![]()
